Welcome to the 2015 Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament!

Chicago is excited to host the 2015 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, IL from Wednesday, March 4 through Sunday, March 8, 2015. As a volunteer you will be receiving a Big Ten shirt, free parking, a Big Ten credential, and two complimentary tickets to a basketball session of your choice!

As we bring the tournament back to Chicago for 2015, we need the efforts of all volunteers to help make the tournament a fun, memorable, and successful event! We hope you will be a part of this great tournament!

Important Volunteer Information You Need to Know:

Requirements: All volunteers are requested to register for a minimum of two (2) shifts and must sign up for two (2) separate days. Each volunteer must attend a mandatory volunteer orientation at the Sears Centre Arena on Tuesday, March 3 at 6:30 pm CT. The orientation does NOT count towards a volunteer day. Each volunteer shift can range between 4-7 hours. ALL volunteers must be at least 18 years or older.

Availability: Numerous positions and time slots will be available for volunteers to register for from March 4 through March 8, 2015. The following volunteer positions will need to be filled: Band/Cheer Escort, Floor Coordinator, Equipment Assistant, Giveaways/T-shirt Toss, Hospitality, Team Check-In, Fan Guest Service, etc.

Training: All volunteers are asked to attend a MANDATORY volunteer orientation at the Sears Centre Arena on Tuesday, March 3 at 6:30 pm CT. At the orientation volunteers will receive their official Big Ten shirt, parking passes, tournament information, and job instruction. We will conduct an all-volunteer orientation and then have breakout sessions specific to your volunteer areas. During these breakout sessions, we will review your specific roles and duties as well as meet the individuals you will be working with during the event.

Uniform: All volunteers will need to wear their clean and well maintained Big Ten shirt with appropriate clothing (preferably tan khaki pants and comfortable shoes).

Background Screening: The Big Ten and Sears Centre Arena require volunteers be subject to a criminal background screening. The screening will be done at NO COST to the volunteer.

Once the background screening is complete, you will ONLY be informed if you do not pass the screening. All of your volunteer assignments will be dropped and you will not be allowed to participate as a volunteer for the event.
